Seattle Pacific University welcomes Robert Chao Romero, professor of Chicana/o & Central American Studies, UCLA, for the 2026 Perkins Lecture on Tuesday, April 21.
He will speak at Chapel, 11 a.m., First Free Methodist Church (adjacent to campus) and at 7 p.m. in the FFMC's Fine Center for the 20th annual Perkins Lecture.
Dr. Romero’s scholarship explores the intersection of faith, history, and social change, with research spanning Latina/o Christianity, religion, and social movements, Chinese communities in Mexico, Asians in Latin America, and Chicano legal history.
He is the author of The Brown Church: Five Centuries of Latina/o Social Justice, Theology, and Identity (2020) and Migration, Mission, and Ministry: An Introduction (2021).
