The members of the Presidential Search Committee met with search consultants via a Zoom call on Nov. 14, 2022, to receive an update regarding the process. Representatives of FaithSearch Partners reported that the widespread announcement of the position occurred in late October, with more than 1,800 individuals identified as prospects. Prospects are primarily within the United States but some are currently serving in other countries.
At the time of the update for the search committee, more than 40 individuals had referred candidates for consideration. The consultants were actively involved in achieving direct contact with individuals who expressed interest and with those who were otherwise referred as potential candidates. In addition, the consultants expressed optimism that the search could be concluded in time for a new president to assume office by the targeted deadline of July 1, 2023.
