Suzanne Stafford

Suzanne Stafford What is your major?
Biochemistry and Honors Humanities with Bioethics minor

What is something you wish everyone knew about your major?
The thing that I wish people knew about my major is the same thing that I wish people knew about any major; as soon as you commit to learning about something greater than yourself, you open yourself up to a greater appreciation of the world.

What was your most impactful class?
I took a study abroad class, Celtic Literature and Culture, during the summer, and it was the first time that I felt truly on my own for an extended time. I made great friendships with people from other countries as well as students at SPU who I wouldn’t have met otherwise.

What are some of your career goals?
I plan to go to osteopathic medical school and eventually become a surgeon for the U.S. Air Force.

What advice do you have for incoming students?
As people age, opportunities narrow with specialization. This is the time to take a risk to improve yourself. Lifelong habits and routines develop between ages 19 and 26, so make the most of that time.
