What is something you wish everyone knew about your major? I am a double major in physiology and French and Francophone studies. I wish that people knew that a physiology degree helps form your medical education, but it’s your other classes, degrees, leadership/life experience that help form you into a medical professional!

What was your most impactful class or professor? My most impactful professor has been Dr. Tracie Delgado because she has pushed me to think like a medical professional and trained me in so many lab techniques, while also inspiring me with her life experience and values. Look out for her upcoming salmon paper that I was able to TA for!

What are you excited for in your future career? I am most excited to learn more about how the body works and share it with others, hopefully in multiple languages and countries! Comprehensive medical care should be accessible to everyone, everywhere!

What advice do you have for incoming students? My advice is to be brave and try new things! Your first year is about discovering your passions, making new friends, and finding the spaces on campus that will support you. Go to events, try new clubs, volunteer with the SPU’s John Perkins Center, and explore the greater Seattle area!

How have you grown during your time at SPU? I have grown in my passions and understanding of the world and self!
