Major: Cellular and Molecular Biology
What are you most proud of from your time at SPU?
I would say that I’m most proud of the service I’ve done for the Biology Department. I’ve helped teach labs for multiple classes by being a teaching assistant (TA), and I’ve prepped material and reagents for labs by working as a prepper. I hope that my work as a TA and prepper has helped students in their classes.
What is a fun fact about you?
I’m an international student! I was born in Korea, but I grew up in Nepal.
What are some of your career goals?
I’d like to go to graduate school and eventually become a genetic counselor. I’m also thinking of getting a PhD and teaching at a place like SPU sometime in the future!
What is something you wish everyone knew about your major?
It’s a pretty hard major, not going to lie. But it is a very rewarding major. The things you learn and the skills you develop will be a great asset for you as you move on in your professional career.
What is a piece of advice you’d like to leave for those still in school?
Work hard, have faith, and compare your progress to where you were yesterday, and not to where someone else is today. You’ll grow so much during your time in college, so don’t bother comparing yourself to others. God has a plan for you!
