Hometown: Woodland Park, Colorado
Major/Minor: Theater Education
Favorite/Most challenging class: My favorite class at SPU was auditioning with Professor Vance. Auditions are daunting, but this class was far from that. I loved being able to workshop monologues and learn audition tricks from an incredible professor while surrounded by encouraging peers.
Favorite memory of SPU: Really simple and warm memories are some of my favorites. In particular, in my junior year my roommate and I would often sit together in our on-campus apartment and watch the sunset illuminate the hill across the canal into the warmest colors. I am constantly thankful for the warmth I found at SPU in these sunsets and in the relationships I have been blessed with.
Biggest life lesson learned during college: Among the many lessons I have learned about myself, the world, and how to interact with others, and the most humbling one, is that it is okay to fail. Often failure is where we can learn the most as long as we choose to persevere and take the time to reflect. I think this is a lesson I will never be done learning. And there are so many more discoveries I have made about myself, the world, and how to interact with others.
Plans after graduation: After graduation I plan to substitute teach either back in Colorado or here in Washington. However, another lesson college has taught me is that plans change. I am excited to see where God takes me in my post-grad life.
