Dr. Li received her Ph.D. in Accounting at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in 2023. Her current research combines insights from psychology and economics to study how monetary incentives and management control systems facilitate corporate decision-making. Yelin taught Intermediate Accounting I and Data Analytics for Accountants at VCU. Before pursuing her PhD, Yelin oversaw financial reporting and auditing at an affordable housing provider in the north shore of Boston. Prior to that, she took different accounting/finance roles in higher education, non-profit organizations and a regional governmental office in Massachusetts. Previously she worked in Hang Seng Bank (HSBC Group) and PwC in Shanghai, China. Yelin received her masters degree in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University, and her bachelors degree in Economics from Shanghai International Studies University in China. In her leisure time, Yelin enjoys visiting museums, hiking, and marathon running.
