Education: MBA, University of Phoenix; ABD, Walden University. At SPU since 2022.

Carmelita was born in the Philippines and migrated to the US when she was 19 years old. Carmelita has 28 years of industry experience as an accountant in several decision-making management and leadership roles leading the accounting, finance, accounting, and operations, which include education, public accounting firms, manufacturing, banking, resort, and construction, and hotel. She worked for several years with two of the Big 4 Accounting Firms, KPMG LLP and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Carmelita has 18 years of experience as an adjunct instructor in various accounting and business administration courses in undergraduate and MBA programs. Her experiences range between classroom and online modalities with several universities and community colleges in California, Ohio, and Hawaii.

She received her MBA at the University of Phoenix and her ABD at the Walden University. Carmelita hopes to ultimately receive her DBA diploma. Her dissertation paper is “Correlational study on the early detection of fraud and the forensic accounting system.” She believes education is a continuous process and there’s always something new to learn and improve on.
