Lena Hristova brings more than a decade of teaching and leadership experience to the School of Health Sciences Nursing program. Dr. Hristova most recently served as a tenured faculty member and associate dean of Nursing at North Seattle College as well as in clinical practice in the area of oncology. In her work at North Seattle College, Dr. Hristova led nursing faculty in curriculum development, pedagogy, and instructional design. Dr. Hristova contributed to the engagement of the campus community to create a climate of inclusion, equity, and access to underserved students, and helped develop programs that supported retention and student success.
Dr. Hristova has taken an active role in supporting the nursing profession with her many appointments to service organizations. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Washington Center for Nursing as well as a non-profit called HEART-Health Enriched by Art. She served as a site visitor for Accreditation Commission for Education of Nursing.
Dr. Hristova’s primary teaching is in the Fundamentals of Nursing Practice and the Medical-Surgical theory and practicum courses. She also teaches selected courses in DNP Program.
