High School Senior Applicants

All high school seniors, including Running Start or Dual Enrolled students (including those with an AA) must apply to Seattle Pacific University through the Common Application, as a nursing intended student, to complete general education and nursing prerequisite coursework. Contact SPU Undergraduate Admissions for further information.

If you are a highly qualified high school senior, you may be considered for direct admission to the nursing major. The decision is based on your application to SPU. Provisional freshman admission to the major is limited and competitive.

Priority consideration for direct admission include:

  • An excellent high school GPA
  • Strong SAT or ACT scores
  • An Early Action application (by November 1) indicating nursing as your intended major

Progression into the nursing program requires that your GPA in the nine prerequisite courses is 2.85 or higher, with no course less than a “C” grade (2.0).  A maximum of two courses may be repeated to achieve the minimum grade of 2.0.

If you are a Running Start or Dual Enrolled student, you must be enrolled at SPU for at least two quarters prior to Nursing Program entry. Contact SPU Undergraduate Admissions for more information.
