Transfer students are those who have completed college level courses after high school graduation, and have not completed coursework at SPU in the past four quarters. They must also have completed either a Direct Transfer Agreement (DTA) degree or 90 transferable credits by the end of summer prior to entry into the nursing program. If you have questions about how your general education credits will transfer, please see the Transfer Course Equivalency Guide or contact a transfer admissions counselor. If you are a Running start student, please see our High School Senior Applicant page.
You must have a minimum of 3.5 cumulative GPA in the prerequisite courses, with no course less than a “C” grade (2.0). A maximum of two courses may be repeated to achieve the minimum grade of 2.0. A minimum of four prerequisite courses must be completed by the application due date.
Transfer students must have completed and submitted official transcripts for the following prerequisite courses by January 15 for Spring admit and the end of Spring Quarter for Autumn and Winter admit.
- Anatomy & Physiology – 10 quarter credits
- General (Inorganic) Chemistry – 5 quarter credits
- Biological (Organic) Chemistry – 5 quarter credits
By the end of Summer Quarter you must have completed either a Direct Transfer Agreement (DTA) degree or 90 transferable credits and all General Education requirements except for UCOR 3000 and UFDN 3100.
Meeting the minimum criteria for consideration of admission neither implies nor guarantees admission to the program. Each year a total of 15 transfer and post-baccalaureate students are admitted, typically 5 seats per quarter.
