The BA program prepares you for a wide variety of careers or graduate training in the social and behavioral sciences. The BS program combines behavioral and natural sciences, and is particularly relevant for you if you are interested in the more experimental or biological side of psychology.

No matter which degree option you choose, SPU’s psychology program aims to:

  • Provide you with solid academic and experiential grounding in the theory, research, and practice of the field of psychology.
  • Prepare and inspire motivated and able students to enter and contribute to the field of psychology.
  • Nurture you toward valuing yourself and others as persons of worth, created in God’s image.
  • Empower you to act in this world by celebrating God’s human and non-human creation, showing mercy and compassion to the vulnerable, and challenging and changing aspects of society that deny or denigrate persons.
