About the Psychology (BA) degree
The BA in Psychology at SPU is designed for students pursuing a degree in psychology with diverse career and graduate school interests, including clinical psychology, counseling psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, school counseling, and industrial-organizational psychology.
The BA in Psychology requires a minimum of between 62 and 92 credits, depending upon the chosen track. Each track also requires 36 upper-division credits, and at least 20 credits while in residence at SPU.
BA Tracks
Animal Behavior — Designed for students interested in animal behavior psychology, training animals, working with pet owners, or becoming a certified applied animal behaviorist. View degree requirements.
Clinical-Counseling Psychology — Focuses on clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and marriage and family therapy, preparing students for graduate programs or careers researching or providing therapy and mental health counseling. View degree requirements.
Community Psychology and Behavioral Mental Health — Emphasizes social justice psychology, community mental health, and nonprofit leadership for students pursuing careers in social work, public health, and behavioral health services. View degree requirements.

Developmental Psychology — Focuses on lifespan development psychology and prepares students for graduate studies or careers in areas like child development, educational psychology, or child life specialist roles. View degree requirements.
