Prayer and Communion

Every week of the quarter, the SPU community is invited to a small, contemplative prayer and communion service focused on the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, or the Eucharist.

In the midst of busy lives we all need space to breathe and reorient. Every Friday during the academic year, members of the SPU community gather to do this through a simple service of Prayer and Communion. A different ordained member of the staff or faculty leads the congregation in a liturgy of prayer and confession that concludes with participation in the Lord’s Supper. Our communion leaders also offer a brief reflection based on a selected text from the Revised Common Lectionary, focusing on themes related to worship, discipleship, and reconciliation. We hope you'll join us as we celebrate God's faithfulness, pray on behalf of needs throughout the world, and remember our identity as Kingdom people.

The service meets in Alexander Chapel, on the second floor of Alexander Hall, each Friday of the quarter, 12:30–1 p.m. All are invited.
