This course will assist the student to develop culturally humble pastoral practices as they confront illness, suffering and death. An overview of several practical skills as well as an understanding of pastoral care will be adapted from the recently published book, A Practice Beyond Cultural Humility: How clinicians can work more effectively in a diverse world. Though a blend of experiential exercises, lecture and participant discussions, students will leave better equipped to provide pastoral care in a range of contexts. May be repeated for credit up to 6 credits.
