EDTC 6105: Educational Technology Leadership (2023-2024)

View all EDTC classes

Becoming a successful educational technology leader is a challenging but not complicated process. Some leaders make the mistake of making top-down decisions without adequate collaboration with the teachers or professors they serve. In this course, you will be introduced to a form of leadership that emphasizes working with the willing and listening before providing advice or making decisions. Peer Coaching is a proven professional learning methodology designed to provide teachers looking to use technology to enable and accelerate deep learning with the support they need. To be successful, coaches need to develop expertise in a variety of domains. Effective peer coaches co-plan learning activities with their learning partners, model or team teach to demonstrate deep, technology-enabled learning and observe and reflect with their collaborating teachers. Participants in this course will have learned and practice the communication, collaboration and lesson design skills they need to be successful coaches and hands-on experience using these skills to co-plan a learning activity with a learning partner at their school. Typically offered: Autumn.
