Join the SPU community on April 8 for Giving Day — a 24-hour celebration supporting scholarships, programs, and student life across campus. And this year parents and alumni can experience the excitement live in the SUB with prayer, pep rallies, friendly fundraising competitions, and more. Learn more.
In February, renowned biblical scholar and former Bishop of Durham N.T. Wright returned to campus, speaking in Chapel, meeting with area church leaders, and sharing lunch with students. Ahead of his visit, Seminary Dean Brian Lugioyo sat down with Wright for this interview — read the Q&A or watch the video.
As your student begins Spring Quarter, the SPU Parent Prayer Network invites you to join us in lifting up our students, faculty, and campus community. Your Spring Quarter prayer guide includes seasonal prayer prompts to offer guidance and encouragement as you pray for your student and the SPU family.
As the SPU community mourns the loss of our friend and partner, John M. Perkins, SPU Stories took a look back at his long association with Seattle Pacific. Perkins, who died on March 13, 2026, at the age of 95, was one of the leading evangelical voices to emerge from the American civil rights movement and a co-founder of SPU’s John Perkins Center in 2004.
The Winter Quarter 2025 Dean’s List is now available. The Dean’s List recognizes undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students who completed at least 12 credit hours. Congratulations to the students whose hard work earned this academic distinction — and thank you to the families who support their academic success!
From the Office of the Registrar
Spring Quarter is an ideal time for students to connect with their faculty advisors and plan ahead for the coming academic year. Students can view the year-long class schedule and build registration plans in the Banner system to stay on track for graduation. Those considering summer coursework — either through SPU or another college — are encouraged to meet with their academic counselor in the Office of the Registrar to ensure courses will fulfill degree requirements.
Every student is assigned a faculty advisor based on their major, who serves as their primary guide for course planning, academic progress, and support if challenges arise. Students are also paired with an academic counselor in the Office of the Registrar, assigned by last name, who assists with new student advising, transfer course approvals, academic probation support, and questions about academic policies. Students can find both their faculty advisor and academic counselor listed in their Banner record, and academic counselors reach out each quarter with a reminder of these advising resources.
Supporting your student’s career readiness this spring
As students prepare for life after graduation or begin building skills for future opportunities, the Center for Career and Calling plays a vital role in supporting students’ “Career Readiness.” Whether your student is actively searching for a job or internship, exploring career options, or simply gaining confidence in professional settings, the CCC offers practical, personalized support throughout Spring Quarter. Here are several ways your student (and recent graduates) can engage with the CCC:
Resume Rescue | Week of April 6
Our signature Resume Rescue event offers quick résumé reviews to ensure students’ materials are clear, polished, and ready to impress employers and graduate programs.
Drop-In Career Support | Monday–Friday, 12–2 p.m.
Students can stop by during drop-in hours for help with résumés, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles — no appointment required.
Career Q&A | Wednesdays
Open to both students and alumni, Career Q&A provides a welcoming space to ask any career-related questions. CCC staff are available to offer guidance, feedback, and next steps. For students or alumni living outside the greater Seattle area, virtual appointments are also available.
GS 3001: Internship and Job Search Strategies (1 credit, online)
GS 3001 is intentionally designed for students who may be starting with little to no professional network or industry connections. The course walks students through the internship and job search process step by step, providing practical templates and guided practice for reaching out to professionals, building meaningful connections, and navigating career conversations with confidence.
Students of any major are welcome, and many participants have secured internships or job-shadowing opportunities as a result of the career conversations they developed in the course. Students consistently report increased confidence in networking and professional communication.
FREE Professional Headshots | Tuesdays and Thursdays
A professional headshot is an important part of Career Readiness. Students can get a free professional headshot at the CCC on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the school year.
The CCC is deeply committed and genuinely excited to partner with every student as they build their career readiness and prepare for what’s next. Parents and families can support their student by encouraging them to engage with CCC resources early and often. These services are included as part of the student experience and are designed to help students feel confident, capable, and well-prepared for life beyond the classroom.
Spring Quarter updates from Student Financial Services
Seattle Pacific’s Scholarship Match site is now live!
The Scholarship Match helps pair students with scholarship opportunities they are eligible for, to make sure all SPU scholarships can be matched with students who qualify. These opportunities can include a wide range of awards, based on a student’s major, experience, career goals, and more.
The application process is open to all students — incoming and continuing, undergraduate, and graduate.
Applications are reviewed and notifications are sent from Spring Quarter through early Autumn Quarter. Almost all scholarships from the Scholarship Match are awarded for one year only, and they are divided evenly throughout the school year. Students must be enrolled full-time to receive the award.
Learn more here about SPU’s Scholarship Match application process and timeline.
Graduating seniors with student loans
Graduating seniors who are also student-loan borrowers will receive an exit-loan information email after Spring Quarter. If students borrowed federal loans, they will need to complete exit counseling at studentaid.gov once they graduate. Exit counseling is designed to help students understand their student loan obligations and get ready for repayment. You can view a demo version of exit counseling at studentaid.gov, as well as read “Repaying Student Loans 101.”
Is your graduating student interested in analytics? SPU’s Master of Science (MS) — Data Analytics in Business prepares students to turn a company’s data into strategic business decisions with hands-on analytics skills grounded in ethics and leadership. This graduate program welcomes students from diverse majors and can be completed part-time or full-time, in evenings or online. It’s an excellent next step after a bachelor’s for students interested in data-informed roles across industries. The application deadline is May 1.
