2013–14 Year in Review:
From the development of a long-range strategic plan to impressive faculty and student scholarship, from the construction of a new residence hall to wide-ranging engagement in our city and around the world, 2013–14 marked a year of significant growth and achievement. One of the standout initiatives was the campaign to preserve and renew iconic Alexander Hall, SPU’s oldest building, recently designated an historic landmark by the city of Seattle.
“While we’ve experienced grief this year, we’ve also been in a period of change and growth at SPU,” says President Daniel J. Martin. “Our core is unchanged. We remain committed to our founding vision and grounded in our Wesleyan roots. And, like all those who have worked so hard to build the University since it began in 1891, we have a strong desire to excel, to innovate, and to make a difference in the world.”
