It's an exciting time to be a musician. Come and explore music with the world-class performers and educators at Seattle Pacific. The SPU Music Department will provide you with the opportunities to cultivate your passion for music and equip you to engage the world.

Are you interested in a Music major or minor? Do you want to use your skills and aptitude to serve others through the functional use of music through the Music Therapy major? Or would you simply like to enrich your education through the study of music, or join one of our small ensembles? Through the programs in the Music Department at SPU, you can choose from these options and to discover lifelong ways to cultivate your musicianship.

Ensemble[21] Concert

Ensemble[21] is the new music ensemble at Seattle Pacific University. This concert will feature fresh new music of SPU composers and a cutting-edge 21st-century repertoire.

Family Concert for Kids of All Ages: Exploring Nature through Music

Double program featuring Spanish and Latin American works inspired by Pinocchio, with the second half centered on works celebrating aspects of the natural world.

All-Choir Concert

The final all-choir concert of the year is not to be missed, as Stephen Newby, Ryan Ellis, and Beth Ann Bonnecroy team up for an impressive evening of choral music. We celebrate our unity in diversity by coming together in song.

The SPU Chamber concert showcases the vibrant chamber music scene from the SPU Music Department. A variety of chamber ensembles from string quartet to brass ensemble to saxophone ensemble and more will perform.

Symphonic Wind Ensemble Concert

Under the baton of Danny Helseth, the SPU Wind Ensemble concludes its multicultural exploration of wind band music with their final concert of the season. This culminating concert features music from composers of color and other non-Western cultures.

The SPU spring Jazz Ensemble concert will feature music from throughout the history of jazz - from swing to cool jazz to fusion. Join Dan Kramlich, the Jazz Lab, and the Jazz Ensemble as they explore some of America's original music from the 20th century.

Percussion Concert

The Percussion Ensemble spring concert, under the direction of Dan Adams, features a variety of chamber ensembles from the percussion studio. Ranging from multiple percussion pieces to ethnic drum ensembles, you will travel through a world of different grooves and beats.
