Why I Teach at SPU

Dr. Randy Beavers, Assistant Professor of Finance

"I teach at SPU to bestow not only financial skills but also a sense of community. Given our small class sizes and my background as a first-generation scholar, I get the opportunity to look at a student’s eyes to see if he or she has really had that aha moment. Building those personal relationships, just as Christ provides that same chance for all of us, makes me feel I am at my Northwest home away from my Southern home."
