Meet the 2019–20 Catalyst Leadership team:

Ernest ThomasErnest Thomas
Catalyst Coordinator

As the Catalyst coordinator, I have the privilege of leading and supporting the Catalyst team. I also get the opportunity to collaborate with other great campus leaders. My goal is to be a reliable leader who supports the team and the mission that makes Seattle Pacific University an amazing university. I hope that SPU offers you an opportunity of growth that at times may be challenging, but overall provides you with a sense of peace that you are not alone and have a community of supporters who want you to succeed.

Mireya GarciaMireya Garcia
Ministry Programmer

Serving as the ministry programmer for Catalyst, I will have the wonderful task of holding the Multicultural Nights of Worship. I hope that together, and with God's help, we will be able to create a space to come together to praise God for our diversities. I also pray that we will be able to learn to see God from different cultural perspectives.

Mondain SesayMondain Sesay
Education Programmer

As the education programmer, I help build the curriculum for the quarterly In Context series. Through In Context, I hope to make a safe space for students, faculty, and staff to have discussions about race, reconciliation, and justice. My goal is to cultivate a community on campus that is committed to learning from each other and bringing awareness to their greater communities.

Janessa FongJanessa Fong
Event Programmer

As the event programmer, I will be working closely with the residence halls’ social justice coordinators and working to promote diversity and intercultural awareness on campus, as well as planning cultural events on campus. My goal is to promote SPU as a space in which students feel comfortable enough to express their cultural identity in the dorms. I am so excited to put on different cultural events where people can learn and have fun!
