Campus Safety

SPU’s Office of Safety and Security is a private security organization that patrols campus buildings and grounds by foot and in cars 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In the evenings, a security officer is available to escort you around campus or to SPU buildings outside the main campus. Just contact OSS at 206-281-2922.

The 40-acre campus is located in a quiet north Queen Anne residential neighborhood about 10 minutes from downtown Seattle.

An Emergency and Crisis Management Plan has been developed and is regularly tested. In 2015, SPU received the Executive’s Award for Community Preparedness for its many years of emergency planning and “a campuswide culture of preparedness.” SPU was the first university to receive this award.
