This course is designed for all students interested in the arts, educational reform, and social justice. Focus is placed on the transformative power of the arts in social and cultural contexts through the review of related literature and case studies that highlight the significance of the arts in our daily lives. The course will explore specific examples of public fine and performing arts programs, their role in realizing social transformation, and the systems that are used to promote, fund, and support them.
