This course prepares students to address the program design and evaluation (performance monitoring and impact evaluation) of social & development programs. It offers an overview of theories, methods, and tools of program design and evaluation. The students will have the opportunity to work with a local or international nonprofit to design a performance monitoring and impact evaluation using one of the methodologies covered during the course. The student teams will present their performance monitoring and evaluation plan, instrument(s), and recommendations to the nonprofit at the end of the course. May be repeated for credit up to 5 credits.
