From his earliest days in the technology industry over a decade ago, Ben Olsen has been integrating his philosophy degree and honors education from SPU into his technology practices and thought leadership.
He pioneered Microsoft’s first Artificial Intelligence & Ethics education programs for employees and for learners worldwide. His online courses in Analytics, Data Science, and Responsible Tech have been taken by millions across the globe, and he continues to push the boundaries of tech education at Facebook, where he is their Responsible Innovation Lead for education & activation initiatives.
Ben is also the co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Responsible Learning & Education program and part of their steering committee for the Responsible Development and Deployment of Technology. He has regularly lectured at Universities across the West Coast, from Stanford to the University of Washington, as well as our very own SPU, where he established our first Data Science Certificate program in collaboration with the Business School.
