Congratulations to Assistant Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology Helen Chung! Named Graduate Professor of the Year at the Seattle Pacific’s 2023 Celebration of Service on May 11, Dr. Chung has been at SPU since 2016.
Dr. Chung has broad scholarship interests in narrative and storytelling, leadership, and spirituality and faith in work. Prior to her appointment in the School of Psychology, Family, and Community, Dr. Chung held the role of assistant professor of management in the School of Business, Government, and Economics at SPU.
Graduate students from each program had the opportunity to nominate a faculty member during Spring Quarter. A representative group of six graduate students from SPU’s graduate schools then selected Dr. Chung from all the nominees as they considered these criteria:
- Excellence in teaching
- Integrative approach to faith and learning
- Interest and enthusiasm conveyed to graduate students
- Effectiveness as a mentor in scholarship and professional development
