Friday, June 7, 9:30–10:30 a.m., Tiffany Loop (line up by 9:15 a.m.)

Faculty members, please meet between Moyer Hall and Peterson Hall, at 9:15 a.m., to line up for the processional. Please dress in academic regalia. All faculty are expected to participate.

Graduate Hooding Ceremonies

Friday, June 7, various times and on-campus locations

Graduate faculty members and school deans will hood graduate students in individual school/program hooding ceremonies prior to the Graduate Commencement ceremony at various on-campus locations. Faculty, please dress in academic regalia.

Graduate Commencement Ceremony

Friday, June 7, 2:003:30 p.m., Tiffany Loop (line up by 1:45 p.m.)

Graduate faculty members, please meet between Moyer Hall and Peterson Hall, at 1:45 p.m., to line up for the processional. Those faculty who will be hooding doctoral students in the ceremony will line up at the front of faculty processional. Graduate faculty will then process into Tiffany Loop and will be seated by faculty marshals up at the front of the seating area.

All faculty are expected to attend either this ceremony or the Undergraduate Commencement ceremony. If you are unable to attend any of the required events, you must receive written permission from your dean to be absent. 

Baccalaureate

Friday, June 7, 7:30–8:30 p.m., Royal Brougham Pavilion

This is an informal worship service planned by the Office of University Ministries, in partnership with undergraduate students, for graduates and their guests. Academic regalia is not worn. Everyone is welcome to attend. General seating is available.

Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony

Saturday, June 8, 7–9:30 p.m., Alaska Airlines Arena, 3870 Montlake Blvd. NE (arrive by 5:00 p.m.)

The ceremony will be held at Alaska Airlines Arena on the north side of Husky Stadium. Faculty will congregate in the Don James Center, located on the north side of Husky Stadium, accessible via stairs or elevator on the pathway between Alaska Airlines Arena and Husky Stadium. Faculty, please arrive by 5:00 p.m. A catered dinner will be served.

  • Please arrive no later than 5:00 p.m. to check in with an SPU staff member.
  • All faculty will gather in Husky Stadium’s Don James Center.
  • Faculty marshals, under direction of Presiding Marshal Derek Wood, will assist with the processional line-up.
  • Consider taking Link light rail to get to the ceremony. Please check the directions and parking page, for more information.

All faculty are expected to attend either this ceremony or the Graduate Commencement ceremony. If you are unable to attend any of the required events, you must receive written permission from your dean to be absent. 

Regalia

To Rent Regalia:

Please contact Bookstore manager Christine Perkins by Friday, April 12. Please indicate your height, as well as your advanced degree (master's or doctorate) and the institution from which you received your degree. If you have a doctorate, please indicate whether you would like a cap or tam.

To Purchase Regalia:

Please visit the Grad Fest on Tuesday, April 9, 10:00 am–6:00 pm, in Upper Gwinn. Our Herff Jones representative will give you custom purchasing options, take your measurements, etc. If you cannot attend Grad Fest, but still want to purchase regalia, please send this completed order form to Herff Jones representative Howard Byrd by Friday, April 12.
