Social Justice and Cultural Studies

What is something you wish everyone knew about your major?
My major is Social Justice and Cultural Studies, and my track is Art for Social Change. I chose this major because I’m interested in exploring the intersections of the arts and social movements.

What was your most impactful class?
I wish everyone knew that the major is a helpful starting point for those who would like to gain a framework that allows us to imagine a more equitable world. Also, being a part of the major gives you access to a beautiful community of people who will support you throughout your journey.

What are some of your career goals?
My most impactful class was U.S. Multi-Ethnic Literature, which was taught by my favorite professor and my mentor, Dr. Bailey.

What advice do you have for incoming students?
To incoming students, I would highly recommend building connections with professors. They are very supportive, and they want to see you win!
