What is your major?
Major: Sociology

What is something you wish everyone knew about your major?
Sociology does not just focus on society's issues; it also discusses solutions or steps forward. Despite popular belief, it can actually be a great major that sets you up for your future. Now that I am completing my major, I am able to use it as a stepping stool for my master's degree.

What was your most impactful class or professor?
It is actually very difficult to pick just one professor or class. Each professor/class had something so great to offer. I appreciated all of the different teaching styles, yet I was able to learn from each one. Each professor was passionate about their subjects and spoke from stored knowledge. It was clear that this was truly their passion versus just a job.

What are you excited for in your future career?
I am very excited to step into my master's program. I have been admitted into SPU's Marriage and Family Therapy program. I am not sure where the Lord will lead me post-grad but as for now, I am happy it is here at SPU.

What advice do you have for incoming students?
Study something you are passionate about, but also allow yourself to explore different classes, and do not feel like you have to have it all figured out in the first year. Also, the most important advice is — Let the Lord be your guide. Entrust Him with your life. There is nothing better than surrendering your all to Jesus. I was a lost and confused kid, and then I met Jesus. Through me surrendering my life to Him, He has led me into a great life, and I would have never been able to do that on my own. Seek Jesus.

How have you grown during your time at SPU?
I have grown in trust in Jesus. I have learned to leave 'independence' and depend on the man named Jesus. It has been the best thing.
