What is your major?
Major: Physiology Minor: Chemistry

What was your most impactful class or professor?
While all of the professors at SPU are incredible, Dr. Cara Wall-Scheffler, professor of biology, was and continues to be my biggest role model, mentor, teacher, and supporter. Dr. Wall-Scheffler’s passion for teaching and dedication to her students is incomparable. She is the strongest woman in STEM I know, and I am truly grateful that I had the opportunity to learn from her.

What are you excited for in your future career?
I’m excited to continue learning. Though I spent the past couple of years preparing for a career in science and medicine, there is so much that I have yet to learn. I cannot wait to meet new people and experience new things that will continue to shape the person I become.

What advice do you have for incoming students?
Make the most of the time that you have as an undergraduate student. Take every opportunity that you’re given, build relationships with your professors and peers, and take all the classes you want to take.

How have you grown during your time at SPU?
I have grown both professionally and personally during my time at SPU. Not only has SPU has equipped me with the necessary skills for any professional setting, but I learned more about who I am and who I want to become.
