Meet Chuck Strawn

Chuck Strawn, Interim Vice President for Student Life

Chuck Strawn is the interim vice president for student life at Seattle Pacific University, effective January 2026. He also serves as dean of students, a role he has held since August 2015. Strawn brings a robust background in higher education administration to this role, with previous leadership positions including executive director of Communiversity at Azusa Pacific University and director of community living at Pepperdine University. Earlier in his career, he served as associate director of residence life at SPU and as associate pastor for youth and contemporary worship at Anderson First United Methodist Church.

Strawn has been a valued member of the SPU community for more than 15 years across two separate periods of service. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to SPU’s mission and to fostering a supportive, student-centered campus environment.

Known for his steady leadership and thoughtful presence, Strawn has strengthened student support systems across campus and cultivated trusted relationships throughout the SPU community. His institutional knowledge, collaborative approach, and unwavering focus on students position him well to lead the Office of Student Life during this interim season.
