How to open your mailstop
- Turn dial left at least four times, stopping at the first number.
- Turn right, passing the first number once, and stop at the second number.
- Turn left, stopping at the third number.
- Turn dial right and pull until the mailstop door opens.
Students have their incoming mail sorted and put into their mailboxes by 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Mail is sorted by matching the name and mailstop number on the piece of mail with a student’s name and mailstop on file, then items are distributed to mailbox bay outside the Student Union Building.
- Do not use nicknames, aliases, etc.
- If the names and mailbox numbers do not match, mail will not be put into the mailbox.
- If your mail is not appropriately addressed, it will undergo several different processes, delaying timely delivery. Mail may also be returned to sender as “Insufficient Address,” if the attempt to process your mail is not successful.

Addressing your campus packages

Once a package is received by mailing services, you will receive an email from FedEx Office stating that your package is located inside Falcon Post, or an email from Luxer ONE stating that your package is
ready for pickup in the Luxer lockers (see image above) outside next to Falcon Posts front doors.
If you have not received an email but your package is marked as “delivered” by the carrier, Mailing Services is still
processing your package.
If your package is marked “delivered” but you have not received the email within 24 hours to pick up your package, email mailing.services@spu.edu or call 206-701-2217 with your tracking
and mailstop number for assistance locating your package.
Please account for a business-day delay in USPS letters and packages, as they will first arrive at the local USPS annex to be processed then handed to our delivery driver. Note: Even packages that paid for
overnight shipping will take two days to arrive on campus.
Summer and Breaks
Due to most residences on campus being closed to students during the summer and breaks, Mailing Services will hold all packages received during these times inside Falcon’s Post for picking, and will send an email notification to the recipient notifying them that they can come pick up the package Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
If you remain on campus or in the immediate area during breaks (hall closures) and anticipate receiving a package that you would prefer to pick up through the lockers, please reach out to Mailing Services.
