Seattle Pacific Seminary is pleased to announce that Dr. Soong-Chan Rah will be teaching the very first course of the new Master of Arts in Asian American Ministry degree.  As an adjunct for winter quarter 2016, Dr. Rah will be teaching THEO 6514: Asian American Experience, Identity, and Theology.  Students will attend to the contextually realities of Asian American experience and identity formation (e.g. history, cultural heritage, immigration, racialization, contemporary issues, etc.), and will also critically reflect on historically dominate theological paradigms operative in Asian American Christian communities (e.g., Evangelicalism).  This course will help students to critically reflect on these issues with a goal of constructing a theological framework for Asian American and multiethnic ministry in the 21st century.

Among his many accomplishments, such as serving as Milton B. Engebretson Professor of Church Growth and Evangelism at North Park Seminary, Dr. Rah is also an ordained minister in the Evangelical Covenant Church; founding senior pastor of Cambridge Community Fellowship Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts; and a nationally recognized speaker and author, with his most recent publication, “Many Colors: Cultural Intelligence for a Changing Church” (2010).
