Dr. Frank Spina’s “The Son of Jesse” Essay

Dr. Frank Spina recently contributed to the Festschrift My Name is Frank and That’s Who I Am – a bound volume that honors Frank Thompson, respected professor of the Philosophy and Religion Department at Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois.  Thompson taught for 28 years and chaired the department for all but three of them.  To read more about Frank Thompson, click here.

The word "festschrift" "draws from its German roots to combine celebration ("fest") with writing ("schrift")."  Dr. Spina’s essay is entitled, “The Son of Jesse: Is the David and Goliath Story a David and Goliath Story?”  Dr. Spina was one of twenty contributors to lend their voices to Thompson’s “Festschrift,” which includes former students and colleagues associated with Thompson’s work at Greenville College.

A copy of the Festschrift is currently on order, to be available at the SPU library.  If you’d like to order your own copy, click here.
