Graduate Study in More Than One Field

You may pursue more than one graduate degree at SPU simultaneously, either through pursuit of one of the University’s dual degree programs or through concurrent enrollment in two programs.

Dual Degree Programs

SPU offers several dual degree programs. These combined programs allow you to complete two master’s degrees in fewer credits than would be required through completion of each program separately because some courses fulfill requirements in both programs. 

• You must apply for admission to the University and to each program. Admission to one program does not guarantee admission to both.
• Once you are admitted to both programs, you will receive a specialized program plan to follow for the duration of your enrollment at SPU.
• You must meet all degree requirements for each program and fulfill all other standards for completion of a master’s degree.
• You must graduate simultaneously from both programs comprising the dual degree.

Concurrent Degrees

Concurrent programs are defined as a pair of programs that may be pursued at SPU by a matriculated post-baccalaureate student, resulting in completion of the requirements for two graduate degrees.

• You must be admitted to and begin the second program prior to completion of the first program, or you will be required to reapply to the University and will be subject to all requirements for a second master’s degree.
• You must meet all degree requirements for each program and fulfill all other standards for completion of a master’s degree.
• You may graduate from one program before completing the second program.
