Associate Professor of Biology Rick Ridgway, an SPU alum who is retiring after 30 years of service as faculty at SPU, was honored by colleagues and students at the annual Biology-Chemistry BBQ on Friday, May 31, 2019. As part of his many contributions, Dr. Ridgway has been instrumental in obtaining and maintaining all of the research microscopes used in Eaton Hall, including two electron microscopes, two confocal microscopes, and a fluorescence microscope. To honor Dr. Ridgway's expertise, service and dedication, the imaging suite housing these microscopes was renamed the Ridgway Imaging Suite at a special reveal on May 31. Dr. Ridgway was also gifted with a memory book, containing photos, letters and reminisces from former students, current students and colleagues.
