Eat, Sleep, Move, Relax & Socialize
Eat regular, balanced meals. Don't skip meals or cut calories. Your brain needs energy to support all your learning! Stay well hydrated with water as your primary beverage, and don't overdo it on the caffeine. Prioritize sleep so your brain and body can function well.
Stay Active-physical activity increases mood and decreases stress. Be creative about ways to get in movement like walking by the canal, having a dance party, working out with a friend, joining an intramural sports team, or exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest with a hike.
Manage Stress and Find Balance
A few ways to manage stress are to get enough sleep, avoid drugs and alcohol, connect socially, and take time for yourself. Seek help from a medical or mental health professional if you are depressed or experiencing distress. If you or someone you know is thinking about suicide, call or text the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988 or call 1-800-273-8255.
If you or a friend is struggling with a health or safety problem, you can:
- Talk to someone you trust for support.
- Visit Student Counseling, Health & Wellness, or a local clinic or hospital.
- Contact the campus (x2911) or community police (911) if your or someone else’s safety is threatened.
