Dr. Laura Hartley, associate provost for student academic success and dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at George Fox University, has been named SPU’s new provost.
Seattle Pacific University will offer students at Concordia University-Portland special scholarships and an expedited application process to help them finish their degrees. Eligible Concordia undergraduate students can receive up to $7,000 in transfer scholarships if they apply by April 1. Concordia, located in northeast Portland and one of the largest private universities in Oregon, announced this week that they will cease operations in May 2020 in addition to other merit and need-based financial aid.
SPU’s Department of Engineering and Computer Science offers on-campus summer day camps for 9th–12th graders (as of autumn 2020). Students can jump-start a tech career at hands-on programs focused on video game creation, mechatronics and 3D printing, and programming fundamentals. No coding experience necessary. They’ll earn college credit and a $1,000 SPU scholarship. Learn more and register.
