Outside Scholarships

Below you’ll find many of the scholarships available to SPU students from outside agencies and organizations. You can browse through all of them, or search using specific keywords.

Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,500-$20,000
  • Available to: Students of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity who are US citizens or eligible non-citizens. Students must be enrolling as an undergraduate in a college or university in the Fall of 2020 with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 or earned a GED. Strong consideration for students who live at or below the poverty level and are the first to attend college in their family.

Barefoot Community Impact Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited university.
  • Deadline: Annual: January 15th

Beldon Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students seeking a degree in business, management, communications, marketing or related field. Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA.
  • Deadline: Annual: September 1st
  • Instructions: Submit 1,500-2,000 word essay. See website for details.

Benjamin Gilman International Scholarship

  • Amount: Varies
  • Available to: U.S. citizen undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide.
  • Deadline: Deadline varies depending on study abroad quarter(s).

Best Career Path Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Medical or Nursing students who will be enrolled in a college or university.
  • Deadline: Bi-Annual: September 15th and January 30th

Blankstyle Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students accepted into or currently enrolled at an accredited university.
  • Deadline: Bi-Annual: June 1st and December 31st

The Boeing Company STEM Scholarship by ICW

  • Amount: $1,500
  • Available to: Applicants must be a junior or senior as of Fall 2022, have a minimum GPA of 3.25, and be majoring in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or health care.

Bradford Removal Service Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a business program, in a good academic standing and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Clubs of America Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Any current college student of an accredited U.S. college or university with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.

College JumpStart Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: High school 10th-12th graders planning to attend college or university and undergraduate college students. Must be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident.
  • Deadline: Bi-Annual: October 17th and April 15th

Community Foundation of Southwest WA Scholarships

  • Amount: $1,000-$5,000
  • Deadline: varies

Captain James Ahn Special Forces Memorial Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Former Special Forces Service Members who are full-time students pursuing degree/certification completion at an accredited post secondary institution.
  • Deadline: Annual: June 1st

Crossroads Empowering Women Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Undergraduate students with a minimum 3.0 GPA, attending college in the U.S.
  • Deadline: Annual: April 18th

CSI Executive Search STEM Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Undergraduate and master's students in all STEM majors. Must be US Citizen to apply.
  • Deadline: Bi-Annual: July 17th and December 16th

Custody X Change Single Parent Scholarship

  • Amount: $500-$1,000
  • Available to: Full time enrolled students who have primary physical custody of one or more minor children. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher or be a first year student.

Cybersecurity Guide Scholarships

  • Amount: Varies

David M. Irwin Friend of Higher Education Award by ICW

  • Amount: $1,500
  • Available to: Applicants must be a junior or senior at an ICW college as of Fall 2022 and feel deeply transformed by their college experience. Students with a GPA of 2.5-3.0 encouraged to apply.

Design Your Future Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,500
  • Available to: Graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students of underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to applicants pursuing design and engineering-related fields. Minimum GPA must be 2.0.

Doctors of Nursing Practice Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: All current DNP students must provide proof of having a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 in their doctoral program

  • Amount: Full tuition scholarship
  • Available to: STEM Students

Dollar Hand Future of Finance Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,000
  • Available to: Students accepted into or currently enrolled at an accredited university and have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
  • Deadline: Annual: August 17th

DO Supply Academic Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Full-time or part-time undergraduate students currently enrolled at a university or college.
  • Deadline: Annual: June 1st

Easton & Easton College Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students who are U.S. citizens and currently attending or accepted to a college, university or trade school. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0

Employment BOOST College Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Graduating high school students or students currently attending college. Students must have a 3.6 GPA or above.
  • Deadline: Quarterly Deadlines: Summer April 1st; Fall July 1st; Winter October 1st; Spring January 1st.

Fiverr Logo Maker Scholarship

  • Amount: $5,000
  • Available to: Female students accepted to or currently enrolled at an accredited trade school, two-year or four-year college or university. Must be U.S. residents.

Folds of Honor Higher Education Scholarship

  • Amount: $5,000
  • Available to: The Higher Education Scholarship is for spouses and dependents of service members who are enrolled, or planning to enroll, in an undergraduate program. Dependent(s) of the service member must be 24 years of age or younger and unmarried.

Ford Foundation Fellowships

  • Amount: One year stipends ranging from $25,000 to $45,000.
  • Available to: Predoctoral, dissertation, and postdoctoral fellows committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level. Must be US citizens or eligible non-citizen.
  • Deadline: Dissertation and Postdoctoral deadline: Dec 8th. Predoctoral deadline: Dec 15th.

Foster Care to Success Scholarships

  • Amount: $2,500–$5,000 Renewable up to five years if the student remains compliant with program requirements.
  • Available to: Undergraduate students under age 25 who have been in foster care.
  • Deadline: Annual: March 31st

Future Web Developers Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students majoring in a computer science-related field. Minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Deadline: Annual: September 30th

Gamma Mu Foundation Scholarship

  • Amount: 1000 to 2500
  • Available to: Gay men, under age 35, who hold a high school diploma or GED and are a US citizen.
  • Deadline: Annual: March 31st

Gates Millennium Scholarship

  • Amount: Varies based on financial need determined through the FAFSA application. Average award in the past years was $12,785.
  • Available to: Students of color who are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian American/Pacific Islander, or Hispanic American. Must be an incoming freshman in the Fall with a minimum GPA of 3.3 or have a GED. Must be eligible for the Federal Pell grant; other criteria on website

Geneva Rock Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,000
  • Available to: Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited university, college, trade or vocational school. Scholarship applicants must be in pursuit of construction-related careers including, but not limited to: Construction management, civil engineering, business, and commercial/professional sales.

Gloria Barron Scholarship

  • Amount: $5,000
  • Available to: Applicants younger than age 19 who are currently working on an inspiring service project or have worked on one in the last year.
  • Deadline: Annual: April 15th

Hartford Technology Rental Co. IT Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Full-time, undergraduate junior and senior students with an IT Major or IT related major.
  • Deadline: Bi-Annual: May 15th and December 15th

Hearthstone Housing Foundation Scholarship Fund

  • Amount: $500-$5000
  • Available to: Low-income high school students or full-time undergraduate students ages 15-25 attending a college, university, or vocational school​ in the United States. Must be a resident of a county where a Hearthstone property is located.
  • Deadline: Annual: March 31st

Ivey Engineering Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: High school seniors who are planning on attending a college or university or are already enrolled as an undergraduate in a college or university in the United States or Canada.

KB Delta Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: All students.
  • Deadline: Annual: July 1st

Key Thinkers Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,500
  • Available to: Students who are 18 years or older, a US citizen or Permanent Resident, enrolled full-time at an accredited college, university, or trade school, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Larson Law Office Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students who are currently enrolled or plan to attend a college, trade school, university or graduate institution in the U.S.

LawnStarter Lawntrepreneur Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: High school senior (who is going to pursue college degree) or full-time college student enrolled in a two year, four year, or graduate program. This scholarship is open to all majors.

Lounge Lizard Web Design Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Applicants must be a student at an accredited school, or be accepted to begin school at an accredited school within 6 months of the application.

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Applicants enrolled in an accredited college or university located in the U.S.

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Full-time students enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university who have an interest in health and technology.

MetroWest Health Foundation Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,000 Renewable up to 4 years.
  • Available to: Students who are accepted into an eligible nursing, medical, or clinical program. Must be residents within the MetroWest service area.

Michael Moody Fitness Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,500
  • Available to: High school seniors, undergraduates, or graduate students who are pursuing a career in the health and fitness related fields.

  • Amount: $4,000 - $5,000

  • Available to: Students currently enrolled in a full-time degree program at an accredited university.

Out To Innovate™ Scholarship for LGBTQ students in STEM

  • Amount: $5,000
  • Available to: LGBTQ undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a U.S.-based college or university and seeking engineering, science, mathematics (STEM), or technology degrees. Applicants must have declared a STEM major and have a minimum of two years of postsecondary education with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Passport to College Promise Scholarship

  • Amount: $4,500
  • Available to: Students who spent at least one year in foster care in Washington state after their 16th birthday. Enroll at least half-time by their 22nd birthday. Must be a WA resident.

Pheabs Finance Scholarship

  • Amount: $500-$1,000

PixelPlex STEM Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,000
  • Available to: Students enrolled in college pursuing a field of study related to science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), economics or business. Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.

Point Foundation - LGBTQ Scholarship

  • Amount: Varies
  • Available to: Must identify as a member of the LGBTQ community. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll at a United States accredited college or university. High school seniors, bachelor’s or master’s degree students are eligible. Awards are based on financial need, leadership experience, and level of LGBTQ community involvement.

  • Available to: Students who are attending or who will attend an accredited college, university, or trade school.

Shape the Future Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,500
  • Available to: Full time students with interest in travel and business. Minimum 2.0 GPA.

Simmons & Fletcher Christian Studies Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Applicants must be U.S. permanent residents or U.S. citizens, be enrolled in, accepted to or plan on attending a Christian College or University, must be a participant in volunteer or community work.

  • Available to: Undergraduate and graduate female students pursuing a degree in any engineering field.

  • Amount: $2,200
  • Available to: Applicants must be a junior or senior at an ICW College as of Fall 2022, and show dedication to volunteer service and academic achievement. Must demonstrate financial need.

Student Veterans Scholarships

  • Amount: $10,000
  • Available to: Student veterans as proven by a DD 214 and transcript and have received an honorable discharge, or be in good standing with his/her branch of service. Must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate program of study in engineering, computer science, computer engineering, accounting, finance, human resources and/or information technology management.

  • Amount: $500
  • Available to: Students enrolled at a post-secondary institution pursuing any field related to technology or marketing.

US Army Health Professions Scholarship

  • Amount: 100% tuition and monthly stipend
  • Available to: Full-time enrolled medical and dental students in an accredited graduate program. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must qualify as a commissioned officer.

Wells Fargo Veterans Scholarship

  • Amount: Varies
  • Available to: Be honorably-discharged veterans or spouses of disabled veterans who have served in the United States military. Be high school/GED graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate study. Minimum 2.0 GPA.

  • Available to: Female U.S. citizens in their junior year at a fully accredited King County college or university, with high scholastic ability as well as financial need.

  • Amount: $5000
  • Available to: Women, 18 years or older, resided in Washington for the past 12 months, US citizen or permanent citizen, admitted in an approved college or university, enrolled in a specific program, low income (see website criteria).
