Card FAQs

Yes, debit and credit card payments can only be made online through QuickPAY.

QuickPAY is a secure, third-party payment service we use to process online payments for tuition and other student account charges.

Card Payment Fees

When paying with a credit or debit card, a non-refundable transaction fee will be added each time a card payment is made. The fee amount depends on the type of card used:

  • Domestic Credit or Debit Cards: 2.8% of the total payment amount
  • International Credit or Debit Cards: 4.25% of the total payment amount

This fee is charged by QuickPAY (for domestic transactions) or FlyWire (for international transactions), not by our office. It will appear as a separate line item on your credit or debit card statement.

E-check payments from checking or savings accounts can be made online through QuickPAY and there is no transaction fee for using this option.

The transaction fee charged by QuikPAY covers the cost of processing credit and debit card payments and goes directly to QuikPAY, not the school

Credit and debit card payments are handled by the payment service provider QuikPAY.

SPU cannot accept these payments in person, by mail, or over the phone.

The transaction fee is charged by QuikPAY, not SPU, so it won’t appear on your student account.

Instead, the transaction fee will show up as a separate charge on your credit card statement.

If you overpay with a credit or debit card, SPU is required to refund the overpayment to your card. However, the QuikPAY transaction fee is not refundable.

Yes, many other private and public universities also charge transaction fees for credit and debit card payments.

The transaction fee is non-refundable. If you have any disputes about the fee, you must contact your credit or debit card company directly.
